for Georgia consumers
Georgia is one of several states that does not regulate or require home inspectors to be licensed.
Consumers should
not be confused by home inspection "certifications" offered by, or sold by home inspection trade socities or companies, obtained via
home study courses, or provided by a one or two day home inspection school. Since the home inspection business is unregulated
certifications are available to anyone.
The only license and certifications recognized in Georgia for the Residential and
Commercial Construction Industry are Construction Licenses issued by the Georgia Secretary of State and the Inspection Certifications
issued by (ICC) International Code Council formally CABO.
